IMPOSITION OF CURFEW ON ALAVANYO AND NKONYA TOWNSHIPS IN THE OTI REGION
The Minister of the Interior, Henry Quartey (MP), has announced the extension of the curfew in Alavanyo and Nkonya Townships and their surrounding areas in the Oti Region. The new curfew hours will be in effect from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am, beginning on Sunday, April 21, 2024.
The government has expressed gratitude to the traditional leaders, elders, youth, and residents of the area for their contributions to maintaining peace in the region. They have been urged to continue utilizing established mechanisms for resolving conflicts and disputes.
Furthermore, the government has reiterated its ban on the carrying of arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons in the two towns and their environs. Anyone found in possession of such items will be arrested and prosecuted.
